Brooke Koebcke’s Big Day Propels Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers Past Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Lady Knights

Brooke Koebcke drove in six runs on four hits to lead Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers past Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Lady Knights 25-4 on Friday. Koebcke tripled in the first scoring three, tripled in the fourth scoring one, singled in the fourth scoring one, and singled in the fifth scoring one. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Koebcke tripled, scoring three runs, a steal of home scored one run, Brynn Hannon singled, scoring one run, Kylie Spencer was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Kali Northcutt drew a walk, scoring one run. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Laney Westfall singled, scoring two runs, Hannon doubled, scoring one run, and Spencer singled, scoring one run. A double by Hannon extended the Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers lead to 13-1 in the top of the third inning. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers scored nine runs on eight hits in the top of the fourth inning. Koebcke tripled, scoring one run, Kami Davis drew a walk, scoring one run, Rylie Moore singled, scoring one run, Kaylynn Luttrell singled, scoring one run, Hannon singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Northcutt grounded out, scoring one run, Koebcke singled, scoring one run, and Davis singled, scoring one run. Northcutt earned the win for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers. The hurler surrendered four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out two and walking none. Kendyl McCammon took the loss for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Lady Knights. The pitcher went two innings, surrendering 11 runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking eight. Davis collected the save. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers accumulated 22 hits in the game. Koebcke and Hannon each collected four hits for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers. Spencer, Moore, Stacia Crabtree, and Davis each collected multiple hits for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers. Northcutt led Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up 12 walks for the game. Spencer and Maddie Burkhart each stole multiple bases for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers ran wild on the base paths, collecting six stolen bases for the game. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Moore made the most plays with six. Leadoff hitter Corinne Zehring led Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Lady Knights with three hits in three at bats. Auna Silver, Ellie Walter, Hannah Lee, and Lauren Johnson each drove in one run for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Lady Knights. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers play at home on Monday against Kankakee Valley in their next game.
