The JV Bombers traveled to Knox Monday night for a hard-fought, physical matchup against the Redskins. From the opening whistle, both teams came ready to battle, with tough running, hard hits, and neither side willing to give an inch. The Bombers found the end zone through the air when sophomore quarterback Merrick Drone connected with sophomore wide receiver Jaden Johnson for a touchdown. The game continued to go back and forth as both teams battled for momentum. The Bombers struck again when Drone found sophomore tight end David Gilmore for another touchdown pass, keeping the Bombers within striking distance. Defensively, the Bombers fought hard throughout the night against a physical Knox offense. The defense made Knox work for its points, but as the game wore on, the Bombers couldn't come up with enough stops to keep the Redskins out of the end zone. Despite the 28-14 loss, the Bombers showed plenty of toughness and grit in a physical game that tested them on both sides of the ball. They continued to battle until the final whistle but ultimately came up short on the road. The 4-1 JV Bombers will look to bounce back next Monday when they return home to host Culver Academy at 5:30 p.m.
