Bombers Bounce Back Behind Strong Pitching Performance By Cotner.

Both teams were strong on the bump on Saturday, but Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers defeated Benton Central 3-1. Tyson Cotner started the game for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers and recorded 21 outs. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers didn't take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at one in the top of the eighth when Braedy Martin doubled, scoring two runs. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers opened the scoring in the third after Tytus James singled, scoring one run. Tyson Cotner earned the win for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers. The hurler gave up six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out six and walking two. Dawson Cain came in and pitched the 8th inning to collect the save. Braedy Martin drove the middle of the lineup, leading Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Landen Musch, Braedy Martin, Tytus James, and Avery Cawby each collected one hit for Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers. Rensselaer Central Varsity Bombers turned one double play in the game. The Bombers will travel to Gary Railcats Stadium to take on North Newton for their next game on Monday night starting at 7:00pm.
